Because of quarantine, DLSU opened it's door to a new batch of froshies–just one term early. Nevertheless, the Council of Student Organizations (CSO) strives to hold the same Frosh Welcoming event typically held on the first term of each new school year for the third term enrollees. Pressed for time, my co-Project Heads and I worked day and night to ensure that they have the best experience transitioning into a Lasallian, albeit everything being held online.
This project started on April 2021 and ended around July of the same year.
It was quickly decided for the event's theme to be Broadway, incorporating the different musicals and productions that many of us grew up hearing. Through this, we designed a logo to encapsulate this theme.
In creating the letters, I used photoshop to layer the type and lights, ending up with an entire alphabet of these marquee letters.
For this project, we chose to have a wider color palette, focusing on reds, oranges, and yellows that you typically see on theatre stages. Adding the greens was a tribute to DLSU's iconic color.
Lastly, typography. An earlier version included fonts that weren't found on Google Fonts, which then became a disadvantage because of consistency and accessibility. After much scavenging, we settled on three typefaces: Belleza, Bebas Neue, and Tenor Sans.

Our team also created an Instagram Filter to boost awareness about the event and to increase the overall hype surrounding it.

After all the social media mini-games and interactive posts, Frosh Welcoming officially ended with a live concert organized by the FW team and the LAMBs entitled Frosh Night.
