As the highest office of the University Student Government, the Office of the President (OPRES) needed to be distinct and recognizable. With this, we wanted a lighter color scheme, an eye-catching typeface, and a simple layout to make the flow of reading easier.
Additionally, since our office was always bustling and busy, we needed a system where we can quickly create the publication materials to release to the student body.
This project started on March 2021 and ended around October of the same year.
First, we started with the typefaces. We wanted bold, attention-grabbing typefaces to invite the students to read our materials. We settled with Blatant for headers, and Fira Sans for the body.
We then came up with the color palette. We chose not to stray away from green, but chose a wide range of shades for contrast.
Elements were next. We had three main styles that we could easily use with Figma's style feature. The icons we used are from Material Design.
With these assets, we were able to build a library of post templates that we could easily edit in times of emergency postings. Because it was all in Figma, we shortened our production time and increased our effectivity and efficiency by 50%, as it took us half the time to design and create publicity materials.
Here are a few the publicity materials posted as the Office of the President.
At the end of our term, we held a livestream to recall all the projects and events we did while Maegan (our president and my dear friend) was serving. Below is the screen templates we used for the State of Student Governance.
Take a look at the lviestream in action!
Thank you so much for reading until here! π€
Big thanks to our Maegan (our President), Raeman (the Chief-of-Staff), MJ (the Chief of Presidential Communications), and Dani and Shania (my Assistant Directors) for such a fulfilling term serving the student body.
